EFFECTIVE AUGUST 17, 2026 · BATHGOWNS.COM · MEASURED AGAINST WCAG 2.1 AA
· The bar we aim for. We want every visitor to be able to read about our robes, compare cloths, and reach us without friction — by screen reader, by keyboard, zoomed way in, or on a small phone. The bar we measure against is WCAG 2.1 AA, the widely used web accessibility standard. Honestly, we’re partially conformant today: most of the site meets it, some of it doesn’t yet, and the gaps are listed below rather than hidden.
· What’s in place. The site is built on semantic HTML with a proper heading order and its language declared, so assistive technology knows what it’s reading. Every form field has a real label, every image carries descriptive alt text, and the whole site works by keyboard — with a visible focus ring and a skip-to-content link for keyboard travelers. The layout holds up zoomed in and on narrow screens — headings scale fluidly, and full-page zoom works throughout. There’s no video or audio here, so nothing needs captions.
· Reduced motion. If your system asks for reduced motion, the site’s looping decorative animations pause and stay still. Entrance transitions are brief and play only once — nothing flashes, nothing autoplays sound, nothing moves at you indefinitely.
· Where we fall short. The site leans on decorative motion — entrance fades, a little parallax, eased scrolling — and those effects currently play even when your system asks for calm; we’re working on honoring that preference everywhere. Body text is set at fixed sizes, so text-only scaling doesn’t resize it (full-page zoom does), and a few tiny uppercase labels are set small — we know small type isn’t for everyone. And no independent third party has formally audited us against WCAG 2.1 AA yet — the checks so far are our own, done in our own code.
· Tell us. If anything on this site is hard to use, write to hello@bathgowns.com or call +1 (364) 209-8792 — a person answers within one business day, Monday–Friday, 8 a.m.–4 p.m. Eastern. We’ll fix what we can, and while we’re fixing it we’ll find you another way to whatever you came for.
· Another way in. Nothing we sell requires the website. Every robe — retail or trade — can be ordered entirely by phone or email, start to finish: sizes, cloths, embroidery, quotes, returns, all of it. The website is a convenience, not a gate.
· About this statement. Prepared August 17, 2026, based on our own review of the site’s code and behavior. We revisit it whenever the site meaningfully changes, and the date above changes with it.
